Hi there. Sam from Matter here. And in this video, we're gonna talk about kudos. More specifically, we're gonna walk through giving kudos, adding on coins to those kudos, sharing kudos outside of Slack, as well as creating custom kudos perfect for company values or company humor. Great. Let's get started. First off, we're gonna look at giving kudos. Inside the Matter-connected Slack channel, you're gonna see the Give Kudos button.

Go ahead and click that button, and then here's where you're gonna be able to recognize your teammates with kudos. Select one or more teammates to recognize. Select a kudos type. This is that card that the message is delivered on. There's 10 default ones. Go ahead and select that card. Type in your message of praise. You can use Slack emojis in the message to make it more fun. Add on coins, which relates to rewards, and you could send the kudos publicly in the channel for everybody to see and celebrate or privately through a direct message. Go ahead and hit send, and it's that simple. The kudos are sent in real time, emoji reactions, thread replies, just like any other Slack message. Additionally, you can add on coins to existing kudos almost as a plus one.

Here's an example of doing that. It's really easy to add on coins. Click the more button, hit Add Coins, and here's where you're gonna be able to type in a message. Enter the amount of coins, and then you can select if you want the message posted in the channel itself. Hit send, and it's that simple. It'll be sent as a thread and in the message itself. Additionally, you can share these kudos outside of Slack. Back in that more button, you'll hit Share Kudos.

Matter's gonna create a beautiful image with that kudos for you to download and share across social media. You can select the background. We have many different options. You can preview different ones to see which one you like the best. And then when you're happy with an option, you can download the image and again, share it on your favorite social network site. It's that simple. Additionally, if you wanna give kudos to the entire team, you can do that as well. Click that more button, hit Give Kudos to All, and then I'll give kudos to everybody inside that entire Matter-connected Slack channel.

Great. Next, let's talk about adding custom kudos, perfect for company values or company humor in creating that camaraderie. We're gonna go into Apps, MatterBot. We're gonna be in the Home tab dashboard, and you're gonna see a kudos section where you can give kudos, give kudos to entire channel, as well as hit Add Custom Kudos. So go ahead and click that, and that's gonna take you directly into our web application here. And so this the ability to create custom kudos is gonna be in your kudos library, which will be in your settings, and you're gonna see the kudos option here. Here's your kudos library. You have 10 default kudos, which you can delete.

Otherwise, if you want to create custom kudos, click Add Kudos, and here's where you can enter the information. Here's a sample custom kudos I've created. You can write in the title such as a name, such as a company value. You can select a background color. You can use a predefined color, or you can do a custom hex color. Great for company branding. You can also change out the text color of the message. And then lastly, you can upload an image.

One by one ratio PNG file types work the best. Here's your kudos preview and hit save. It's that simple. That kudos will go into a shared library that everybody can use. Here's an example of giving that custom kudos. Perfect. There we go. Very simple and easy to do. Lastly, we're gonna talk about kudos permissions. So we're gonna go back into the web app, go into settings, go into the general. If we scroll down, we're gonna see custom kudos permissions. This is where we can control who can create custom kudos.

By default, all team members can create custom kudos. But if you'd like, you can limit it to admins only. Additionally, you can control who can send private kudos. By default, it's all members, but you can limit it to admins only or no members. And lastly, sharing kudos. Again, you have permission controls here around all members, admins only, or no members. Great. So that's everything kudos related.
