How do you install Matter in Microsoft Teams?
Installing Matter has two parts: add Matter to a Teams channel, then have a Teams admin pin Matter for all users. Matter admins can customize the app home with company branding. We recommend installing Matter from the Teams AppSource Marketplace or following Matter’s step-by-step Teams installation guide.
Can Matter be added to a private Microsoft Teams team or moved to a new channel?
Yes. Matter can be installed in a public or private Microsoft Teams team and in a public channel. Microsoft Teams does not allow apps to be installed in a private channel. Admins can transfer Matter to new channels within the same team.
Does Matter support multiple Microsoft Teams teams, Enterprise Grid, and Copilot?
Yes. Matter supports adding Matter to more than one team on Microsoft Teams (i.e., Enterprise Grid), which helps larger organizations support multiple teams or workspaces with one centralized setup. Matter also integrates with Microsoft Copilot for surfacing recognition and insights.
How are users added or removed from Matter in Microsoft Teams?
Users are added to or removed from Matter when admins add or remove users from the Matter-connected Microsoft Teams team, bulk add users, or automatically add users to Matter in Microsoft Teams. Matter’s web app syncs with Microsoft Teams every 24 hours, so membership changes may take some time to appear there.
