Kudos

Hi there. Sam from Matter here. And in this video, we're gonna talk about kudos. More specifically, we're gonna walk through giving kudos, adding on coins to those kudos, and lastly, creating custom kudos, perfect for company values. Great. So we're gonna start inside the Matter-connected channel. And underneath each message, you're gonna see the Give Kudos button. Go ahead and click that button. And then to give kudos, you're first off gonna select one or more people. You're gonna select a kudos type. This is that card that the message is delivered on, 10 default ones. Go ahead and type in your message of praise.

You can use emojis in the message. Add on coins, which relates to rewards, and then select the visibility sent in the channel publicly for everybody to see or privately through the chat. Hit send. It's that easy. The kudos will be sent in real time, emoji reactions, replies, just like any other message. Additionally, you can add on coins to these messages. Click the more button, hit Add Coins, then you're gonna be able to type in your message and add on coins. Go ahead and hit send, and that message will be added on to that existing kudos.

Additionally, in the more button, you can give kudos to the entire channel. So select this option, and then you can give the kudos and everybody in that channel will be notified. Great. Next, we're gonna talk about creating custom kudos. At the top, we're gonna go to the Matter tab. Inside the Matter tab, in the Home tab, you're gonna see the ability to hit Add Kudos. That'll be in the kudos section here at the bottom. So hit Add Kudos, and that'll take you into our web application.

It'll specifically take you into the settings and then kudos library. Here's your 10 default kudos. You can delete them if you'd like. Otherwise, you can hit Add Kudos and add in the custom kudos. Here's an example of a custom kudos I created. You can write in the title, perfect for a company value. You can select a background color either from the default palette, or you can create your own you can select your own custom background color. Perfect for company branding.

So if you have a hex number added in, you can also adjust the text color of the kudos as well. Lastly, upload a one by one ratio image. PNG file types work the best. Preview the kudos card and hit save. It's that simple. Any custom kudos you create, everybody else can use. So you're gonna see that added into the shared kudos library when you go into the kudos type drop down. So select the person, select the type, and hit send.

Perfect. There's the example of the custom kudos. Lastly, we're gonna talk about kudos settings. We're gonna go into settings, go into general, and we're gonna look at our permissions. First off is the kudos custom custom kudos permissions. This is where you can control who can create custom kudos. By default, all members can create custom kudos, but you can limit it to admins only. Additionally, you can control who can create who who can send a private kudos.
