Hi there, Sam from Matter here. And in this video, I'm gonna show you how to recognize your teammates inside Slack. More specifically, we're gonna walk through kudos recognition, Feedback Friday reminders, coins and rewards, and lastly, celebrations. Please note, the settings in this video might be different from your actual workspace settings. I'm using the default settings, but your admin may have changed them based on your program needs. Great, we're first off gonna go ahead and give kudos. It's really simple. Go in the Matter-connected Slack channel, click the Give Kudos button.

Go ahead and select one or more people to recognize. Select the kudos type. This is the actual card the message is delivered on. Go ahead and type in your message of praise, use Slack emojis to make it more fun, add on coins, which relates to rewards, and click Send. That easy. Emoji reactions, thread replies, you can pile on coins to existing kudos as well. To help encourage you to give kudos, Matter has a dedicated day called Feedback Friday. Feedback Friday just helps you take a moment out of your busy day to recognize a teammate.

At the end of the day, there's a fun recap showing everybody who's participated throughout the entire week. Please note, you don't have to wait until Feedback Friday to give kudos. You can do it at any time in the moment. As for those coins and rewards, we're gonna go into Apps, MatterBot, and in here is where you can see your coin balance. So one important thing to note about coins, 10 coins is equivalent to 1 US dollar. At this point, you may have been assigned a coin allowance to give away. This is a use it or lose it allowance, so make sure to give kudos. So those coins you earn from kudos, celebrations, etcetera, they're independent.

They do not reset. They do not expire. You can take those earned coins by clicking Redeem Reward and go into our reward store here. So you can go and select either from gift cards, donations, prepaid cards, monetary options, or potentially your company's added in their own custom rewards here as well. Simply select a reward and go ahead and make a request. Your admin will get notified of that request. Upon admin approval, you'll get a message in Slack and you'll also get an email with the redemption instructions to your Slack email. Great, so that's coins and rewards with Matter.

Lastly, we're gonna talk about celebrations. So at this point, your admin may have uploaded the dates for you or you might be getting a direct message from Matter to add in the date yourself. If the latter, it is a completely optional way to add in the date. You don't have to. So if you don't want to participate, don't do anything when Matter asks. And at any time, if you want to opt out, you can. Go into the web app, go into your account settings, and you can change the visibility of how you'd like to be celebrated. Please note, if the date happens to be in a weekend, we might celebrate you on the previous Friday during the work week, and your admin may have added on coins to your special day.
