Hi there. Sam from Matter here. And in this video, I'm gonna show you how you can welcome new hires with automated onboarding surveys. More specifically, we're gonna look at configuring the survey and its settings, sending the survey inside of Slack, and lastly, looking at the results. Great. So we're gonna start inside of the web app in the Surveys Manager and Onboarding Surveys. In here is where you're gonna see your survey library. These are the surveys that are sent to new hires.
You'll see four default surveys here. We've already done the hard work and research for you. These surveys are good to go. Simply enable, or you can go ahead and edit them as you see fit, or just use them as inspiration. Let's jump into a survey itself by clicking on the survey and click Edit. In the survey, you can edit or view the title, add a description, and then select the send timing. This is the number of days after the hire date in which the survey will be sent. Next is actually building out the survey questions.
You can make survey questions required, enable comments. We'd recommend using the question type agree-disagree. This allows us to have a numerical score around the responses and gives you an effectiveness score for your overall onboarding. Go ahead and click Continue, and then view the survey details. And when you're happy with it, go ahead and click Save Survey. So that save survey will be saved here in an inactive state. When you are ready to activate it, simply enable it. In addition to this, you can also set your survey settings.
In the upper right here, click settings. And in here for your onboarding surveys, you can go ahead and select the anonymity, whether it be anonymous or attributed. You can send the email in addition to Slack, also via email. You can enable automatic reminders for those who don't complete it. You can get notified of new response to Slack and specify notified members. And lastly, highly recommended, you can reward for survey completions. Great. So let's hop back into the Surveys Manager, click Send Preview, and then let's hop into Slack here and look at the survey experience.
People will get a red dot notification from Matter inside of Slack, and then they'll see the survey, the title, description, if there's a coin reward, and then the anonymity, whether it be anonymous or attributed. Team members can click Start Survey and they can go ahead and fill out the survey. Again, you will see that anonymity clause at the top there. And when people have completed the survey, go ahead and click send.
And you'll see that coin reward there if there's one enabled. Hopping back into the web app to view the results, there's a few different ways to look at it. We can look at the results per individual survey, and we can also look at our effectiveness score and our survey completion rate. Whether it be overall, or if we wanna go and view the effectiveness score by survey, we can click View Details and same with the survey completion rate.
Let's jump into an individual survey. So we'll click on the survey and then click View Results here. And then at the top, you can filter the survey results by user group or segment or date range, including a custom date range. You can look at the actual responses, whether it be a breakdown of the responses per question, or you can view responses per individual as well. And of course, at the top, you can download the report of all the raw survey data. In the in the Excel file, you'll see two sheets, a dashboard sheet that includes all of the overall stats as well as an answer sheet, which gives you a breakdown of responses per respondent. And that's pretty much onboarding surveys with Matter. If you have any questions, feel free to message us at hello@matterapp.com, and we would be more than happy to help. Thanks for watching, and bye for now.
