BambooHR is one of Matter’s supported HRIS platforms. When connected, Matter can automatically sync employee data into Matter to streamline employee data management and support automated celebrations like birthdays and work anniversaries.
After setting up your HRIS integration, Matter can automatically sync BambooHR data into Matter, and admins can manage the integration from the HRIS configuration page. Matter also supports actions like 24-hour automatic syncing, starting a sync immediately, viewing sync history, reconnecting the HRIS, and disconnecting it when needed.
Matter helps teams use BambooHR data to reduce manual work and make employee experience programs more accurate. Matter treats synced HRIS fields as the source of truth for standard data like date of birth, direct manager, ethnicity, gender, hire date, and job title. Teams can also extend that data with Member Properties to support better filtering, reporting, and personalization across Matter.
Teams use BambooHR data in Matter to support more connected employee experience workflows. Synced employee data can help power celebrations, improve analytics, and make it easier to organize people using Member Segments and Member Groups. Groups can reflect org structure, sub-groups, and manager access to analytics, while keeping team-level insights more relevant over time.

Set up your HRIS integration from the Matter web app by going to Settings, opening HRIS Integration, selecting Sign In to HRIS, and following the guided setup flow. HRIS integration requires a paid Matter plan, and the initial sync may take a few minutes depending on data volume. Matter is also listed on BambooHR Marketplace.
Matter’s HRIS integration can sync standard employee fields such as hire date, date of birth, gender, job title, manager, and other core profile data into Matter. Teams can also use Member Properties to organize synced HRIS data and map additional fields for filtering, reporting, and personalization across recognition, rewards, and surveys. BambooHR’s marketplace listing also highlights synced fields such as email, status, first name, last name, hire date, location, gender, date of birth, department, and supervisor ID. Yes. Companies can use synced BambooHR data to create Member Groups and Member Segments based on employee properties. Groups can reflect org structure and manager visibility, while segments can use property-based rules to filter recognition, rewards, survey data, and analytics. Segments update automatically every 24 hours, which helps keep reporting and targeting current as employee data changes.
